Terror Diva (An Unique Jester Party In Deck Mafia)
The Terror Diva is a third-party role whose goal is to die during the day, causing maximum disruption, especially to the scum factions. The longer she stays alive, the higher the risk for all players, especially for the Subvers and Farmers, who are the innocent factions. Let’s explore optimal strategies to help you master this chaotic and powerful role.
Primary Objective:
- Goal: Die during the day under favorable conditions, ideally after Day 2 but before Day 5 for maximum impact.
- Death Toll Mechanic: The longer the Terror Diva survives, the more players die when she is eliminated, and scum factions face the biggest risk.
- Risks: Losing if scum factions reach parity with Subvers or Farmers while you are alive, or if you are killed at night, modkilled, or break a post restriction.
Playstyle and Strategies:
1. Survive the Early Days Without Drawing Too Much Attention:
- Days 1 and 2: Early on, you should focus on staying alive without attracting too much suspicion. Avoid being voted off too early because the death toll in the first two days only takes out one or two Subvers or Farmers, which is not ideal for maximizing your disruptive potential.
- Be cautious in your participation. Contribute just enough to avoid becoming a primary target for night kills or town votes, but don’t play too passively.
2. Maximize the Death Toll with Well-Timed Death:
- Day 3-4: This is the sweet spot for the Terror Diva. If you die on Day 3, three players will die, two of whom will be Subvers or Farmers. If you die on Day 4, the toll will take out four players, with two guaranteed to be Subvers or Farmers. At this point, you have the opportunity to wreak havoc while still hurting scum factions in the process.
- By waiting until Day 3 or Day 4, you create the maximum amount of chaos, hitting both innocents and scum factions. The scum factions might be afraid to vote you out, but you can try to get the Subvers or Farmers to yeet you by making them feel threatened by your continued survival.
3. Utilize the Terror Gun on Odd Nights:
- Stealing votes on odd nights is a powerful ability. You can weaken key town players and grant them a silent vigilante shot. The best targets for this ability are town-aligned players who are suspicious of others. Giving them the silent vigilante shot allows them to execute players during the day, but if they accidentally target you, they will die instead.
- Strategic Voting Manipulation: This can create an atmosphere of paranoia, especially among the Subvers and Farmers, as they might inadvertently kill one of their own. However, use this ability sparingly to avoid drawing too much suspicion too early.
4. Avoid Night Kills at All Costs:
- Scum factions (like Mafia) or night-killing town roles are your biggest threats. If they suspect you, they may try to eliminate you at night, preventing you from achieving your goal.
- Because of your immunity to conversions, you won’t be turned by any factions, but you still need to be careful. Don’t make yourself too obvious a threat, or you risk being taken out by factions who feel they can’t afford to let you live.
5. Engage with Subvers and Farmers to Gain Their Trust:
- The Subvers and Farmers are the innocent factions, so manipulating them into voting for you requires subtlety. You don’t want to seem too obviously anti-town, or they might suspect you’re the Terror Diva and avoid voting for you. Instead, create subtle confusion and frustration, making yourself a tempting target for elimination.
- Misinformation can be your ally here. Push wrong theories, cast doubt on key players, and create just enough suspicion on yourself that the Subvers and Farmers want to eliminate you without recognizing you as the Terror Diva.
6. The Day 5 Solo Nuke Strategy:
- If you can make it to Day 5, you have a special opportunity: a solo win, where you nuke the game. In this scenario, your death will end the game, and you claim victory.
- To pull this off, you’ll need to survive without being killed at night or by modkill, all while subtly pushing the Subvers and Farmers and scum factions to vote you out. The town and scum factions will want to eliminate you by this point because your death toll threat is becoming too great. If they fall for it, you can end the game on your terms.
7. Late Game Play (Day 6+):
- If you survive past Day 5, you can still win, but your death no longer harms anyone. By Day 6 or later, if you’re still alive, you may be seen as a lesser threat because the death toll mechanic is no longer in play.
- Your strategy in the late game might shift to ensuring that scum factions don’t reach parity, allowing you to claim victory without needing to die. At this point, factions may try to vote you out just to end your disruption.
Faction-Specific Considerations:
Against Subvers and the like:
- Since they’re the innocent parties, you don’t want to be too aggressive against them, but you do want them to feel threatened enough to vote you out. The trick is to balance creating enough confusion so they don’t realize you’re the Terror Diva but still feel you’re a liability that needs to be removed.
Against Scum Factions:
- The scum factions will be wary of triggering your death toll. They may avoid voting for you or even protect you to keep you alive longer. This is where your subtle manipulation of the Subvers and Farmers comes into play, as scum factions will likely not want to engage directly with you for fear of making things worse for themselves.
Final Thoughts:
The Terror Diva is a role of calculated chaos. You need to survive long enough to unleash devastating effects upon your death, but not too long to risk the scum factions winning by parity or getting taken out by a night kill. Carefully timing your elimination and manipulating factions to achieve your goal is key to success. When played well, the Terror Diva can swing the game dramatically, leaving all players scrambling to deal with the aftermath of your death.
